The exchange rate of the Pakistan rupee weakened by 74 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs175.04 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs174.30.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs175.75 and Rs177.25 respectively.
Similarly, the price of the euro was appreciated by 79 paisas and closed at Rs196.93 against the last day’s trading of Rs196.14, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen gained one paisa to close at Rs1.52, whereas an increase of 81 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs234.16 as compared to its last closing of Rs233.35.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 20 paisas each to close at Rs47.65 and Rs46.66 respectively.—APP
