Islamabad is going to have the first-ever slaughter house in Sector I-11/4 (I-11 Markaz) and it will be set up under the public-private partnership.
The slaughter house will be the first in the history of Pakistan with all the modern equipment providing fresh meat to the citizens of Islamabad and neighbouring localities.
This was announced by Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Wednesday while reviewing the progress of the proposed Slaughter House to be set up in Sector I-11/4.
Special Assistant to PM (SAPM) on CDA Ali Nawaz Awan, MNA Raja Khuram, CEO PPP Authority, and other concerned formations were also present in the meeting
The meeting was informed that the total area of the slaughterhouse was 8,000 square-feet; the indoor coral area would process more than 15000 animals per week.
The modern slaughterhouse will have a capacity of 2000 small animals (goats) and 800 large animals (cows) per day.
The slaughterhouse includes major components such as: freezing room, cold storage, deboning area, packing room, dispatch area, animal waiting area, animal checking & inspection area, chilling rooms, administrative rooms, car parking, tube well and waste treatment area.
