The Primary Health Department closed the entrance of unvaccinated people in the public hospitals in Lahore district on Tuesday.
According to details, the health department has issued advice to all the public hospital heads including Chief Executive officers (CEO) and Medical Superintendents (MS) in this regard.
The health department said in its advice that non-vaccinated persons coming to the hospitals must be caught on the spot and vaccinated.
It is declared necessary for the patients and their attendants that they should be vaccinated by one dose at least at the time of their admission in the hospitals.
The department taking the hard decisions has also banned an entrance of a patient or an attendant without taking the second dose of the vaccination after three weeks of the administered the first dose.
The letter also directed the hospitals’ heads to set up a desk in the OPD block for checking the vaccine cards. Anyhow, the department also directed that the people who could not get vaccines for any reason would be exempted from these conditions.
Meanwhile, NDMA Chairman Lt-Gen Akhtar Nawaz visited the office of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) here on Tuesday.
On the occasion, he met and interacted with Provincial Minister PDMA Khalid Mahmood and Senior Member Board of Revenue and Relief Commissioner Punjab Babar Hayat Tarar. Matters of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting. The NDMA chairman also visited the control room of PDMA and reviewed in detail the measures taken to curb smog.
On the occasion, Senior Member Board of Revenue and Relief Commissioner Punjab Babar Hayat Tarar briefed him on the precautionary measures against natural disasters, early warning system and strategy to mitigate life and property losses during natural disasters.
