A report submitted by the Islamabad inspector-general of police with the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday maintained that action had been taken against 32 people involved in the harassment of and attacks on journalists.
The report was submitted during the hearing of the apex court’s suo motu case concerning harassment of journalists.
According to the report, about 16 cases were registered with different police stations of Islamabad during the last one year.
Investigative reports of 12 cases of the 16 cases had been submitted to the trial courts, the report further stated. The person who attacked journalist Absar Alam had not been identified yet, it added.
