The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), an ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government has summoned a meeting the party’s central committee to discuss reservations with the government.

The meeting has been summoned on the directives of the party chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, while Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will chair the meeting.

The party leaders including Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Moonis Elahi, Hussain Elahi and others will attend the meeting.

Kamil Ali Agha said that the party leadership is receiving complaints about the behaviour of the PTI-led government in Punjab and the meeting has been summoned to discuss the issue as per party’s manifesto.

During the meeting a plan will be formulated with regard to reservations regarding the attitude of the Punjab government.

The meeting will make a detailed decision after consultation. The party leaders will discuss their concerns in detail during the meeting.

The current and future political situation will be discussed in the Central Committee meeting. There are major complaints from the party regarding the attitude of the Punjab government, he added.

“Though, we are the ally of the PTI, but we are only contacted by them at the time of need”, he complained.

Earlier the government’s lobbying with the allied parties to seek support for the electoral reforms bill, failed as Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Muslim League–Q (PML-Q) have shared their reservations.

“We were not consulted over the EVM and its terms of reference,” parliamentarians from both the parties had objected.

Meanwhile, an additional district and sessions court granted bail to Iftikhar Ahmed, one of the suspects in the Minar-e-Pakistan harassment case, after the complainant recorded a fresh statement Friday.

“I had lodged a complaint against the accused, Iftikhar Ahmed, on the basis of suspicion and misunderstanding,” she told the court.

“Now I am satisfied with his innocence through respectables from the locality and have no objection if Iftikhar is admitted to post-arrest bail.”

The TikToker had lodged an FIR against Iftikhar Ahmed on August 17 at the Lari Adda police station.

It included the following sections of the Pakistan Penal Code:
After her new testimony was recorded, Iftikhar Ahmed was granted post-arrest bail against surety bonds worth Rs100,000.

“Investigation of this case is complete and no useful purpose will be served by keeping the accused behind bars,” the court ruled.

On August 18, an FIR was registered against 400 men for harassing, groping, and assaulting a woman at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park. The woman said she was there to film a video for her YouTube channel. Another video showed the men throwing the woman in the air.
