Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Wednesday declared that Prime Minister Imran Khan envisions provision of Sehat Sahulat Card to all 29.3 million families of Punjab, saying that Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is in fact the fulfilment of a promise made by the Prime Minister with the nation.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid was speaking during a review of the arrangements for the launch of Sehat Sahulat Card Program in a video link meeting with Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Faisal Sultan on Wednesday.
Secretary Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi also joined the session which was attended by Special Secretary SH&ME Dr Asif Tufail, MD Punjab Health Foundation Dr. Kiran Khurshid, CEO PHIMC Dr. Ali Razzaq and other officials.
The Health Minister said: “We are reviewing arrangements for the launch of the Sehat Sahulat Card. All institutions including Nadra have been asked to consolidate data of all citizens.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar want to provide quality healthcare services to people. It is our responsibility to look after the health of every citizen.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr. Faisal Sultan asked all institutions to prepare for the launching of the program. Healthcare services shall be available to all through this.”
Meanwhile, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Imran Sikander Balich met a delegation of World Bank here on Wednesday. The Secretary P&SH Department discussed health and key development initiatives in the meeting.
Present in the meeting were DG Health Services Punjab Dr. Haroon Jehangir Khan, Dr. Akhtar Bashir and Dr. Nauman Khan from WHO.
Present in the World Bank team were Practice Manager Gail Richardson, Senior Health Specialist Manobithari, Senior Health Specialist Aliya Kashif, Economist Jahanzeb and Operations Officer Shiza Khan.
Strategy was devised to complete the development projects. The 30 projects underway with the support of the World bank was also reviewed.
Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Imran Sikander Baloch said, “New projects with the support of the World Bank are being initiated. Provision of health facilities at primary level shall be ensured with the support of the World Bank.
Reducing infant and maternal mortality is our first priority. Under the Reach Every Door Campaign, more and more people are being vaccinated.
We are striving to provide best quality health services as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
We will make all out efforts to make successful the family planning services with the support of the World Bank.”
Practice Manager World Bank Gail Richardson said the WB shall support support the Population Welfare Department and the Primary and Secondary healthcare Department to make family Planning project a success.
