Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed that divisional and district law & order committees to regularly hold meetings to improve the law & order situation in the province.
While issuing directives to the provincial cabinet committee on law & order from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, the chief minister underscored that nothing is important than protection of life, honour and property of the common man.
Usman Buzdar instructed that the law enforcement agencies should remain alert and vigilant while making every effort to protect the people.
He asked the RPOs and DPOs to efficiently perform their duties and personally monitor law & order situations in their areas.
The role of police and law enforcement agencies was praiseworthy in maintaining peace in the country and the officials sacrificing their lives in the line of duty are the heroes of the nation, concluded the CM.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Literacy and Non-formal Basic Education Raja Rashid Hafeez inaugurated NFE Curriculum Punjab 2021 Accelerated Learning Program – Primary scale.
Additional Secretary Literacy Bashir Ahmad Zahid Goraya, Director Literacy Program Tanveer Ahmad , Chief Advisor Chi Ho Ohashi, Deputy Chief Adviser Abid Gul, Dr. Farooq Manzoor and civil society representatives were present.
Provincial Minister for Literacy Raja Rashid Hafeez said that through this program, the primary literacy program will be conducted in formal schools in two and a half years only.
He said that the accelerated program is specially designed for the education and training of the youth who have been deprived of education for any reason and they have not been admitted to a school due to their overage.
The program has been formulated on a very comprehensive, complete and concise pattern under single national curriculum so that they can complete it in less time. Skills such as citizenship, tolerance, peace and harmony have also been included in syllabus.
He further said that new textbooks, training system, examination and certification system will be developed according to the accelerated curriculum. Secretary Literacy Sumera Sammad said in his briefing that the program will be run on mega scale.
