In a joint statement,leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council including Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council and other key office bearers, including Maulana Asad Zakaria Qasmi, Maulana Asadullah Farooq, Maulana Haq Nawaz Khalid, Maulana Obaidullah Gormani, Allama Tahir-ul-Hassan, Maulana Muhammad Shafi Qasmi, Pir Asad Habib Shah Jamali, Maulana Noman Hashir, Maulana Muhammad Ashfaq Patafi, Maulana Tahir Aqeel Awan, Maulana Abu Bakar Sabri, Maulana Anwar Haq Mujahid, Maulana Aslam Siddiqui, Maulana Abdul Hakim Athar, Maulana Hassan Ahmad Hussaini, Maulana Habib-ur-Rehman Abid, Maulana Saadullah Ludhyanvi, Mufti Muhammad Omar Farooq, Maulana Aziz Akbar Qasmi, Maulana Saadullah Shafiq, Maulana Yasir Alvi, Hafiz Muhammad Talha Farooqi , Maulana Aqeel Zubair and others Said that issues could be settled through dialogues instead of employing violence.
Leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council said in the joint statement that dialogues process will be endorse following the confidence of leadership of Pakistan Army, martyrs’ heirs and security institutions of the country.
Pakistani nation and its army have jointly defeated the menace of terrorism and extremism, adding that due to the changes taking place in Afghanistan, the leadership of Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries in the region would have to take joint steps for peace and stability in the region.
The enemies of peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan are conspiring to use the international terrorist organizations to make instability and destruction of peace in region, said leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council.
Amidst this prevailing situation Pakistan, Afghanistan and other regional countries have to take steps very cautiously.
The clerics said that Ulemas-Mashaykh have always played their role in the forefront against extremism and terrorism.
Therefore, while supporting the negotiations with the TTP, we believe that the government in this regard will take into confidence, political and religious leadership, heirs of martyrs, Pakistan’s forces and the leadership of security institutions of the country.
