The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a volatile session on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining 186.74 points (+0.4 percent) to close at 47,219.18 points.
The market opened on a positive note but switched between the green and red zones during the next two hours. The volatility continued for the next four hours too; however, the index remained in the green territory.
The market managed to close the session above the critical resistance level of 47,200 points. The KSE-100 Index moved in a range of 306.4 points, showing an intraday high of 47,242.8 points and a low of 46,936.4 points.
Among other indices, the KSE All Share Index gained 140.48 points (+0.44 percent) to close at 32,194.03 points, while All Share Islamic Index gained 95.78 points (+0.42 percent) to close at 22,911.27 points.
A total of 390 companies traded shares in the stock exchange, out of them shares of 238 closed up, shares of 131 closed down while shares of 21 companies remained unchanged.
