Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat on Thursday directed the law enforcing agencies to take immediate steps to identify the perpetrators of firing on police during the recent protest of the banned outfit.
He said that legal action should be taken against the identified persons without any delay.
Expressing sympathy with the families of the martyred police personnel, he warned that anyone who breaks law in Punjab would be brought to book.
He asked the members of the banned organization to prove that they should behave like responsible citizens and not to play with the lives and property of their innocent brothers.
Expressing regret, the law minister said that millions of people of Punjab were being affected by the protest of the banned organization while ordinary citizens including patients, travellers and students had been suffering for several days.
“Instead of creating unrest, take a peaceful approach because Muslims across Pakistan, including government representatives, fully believe in the greatness, finality, and sanctity of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) in every way,” he pointed out.
The minister said that in all the incidents so far, only Pakistan has suffered in all respects and the nation and the country are being ridiculed all over the world.
Meanwhile, The public prosecution departments of all provinces should be interlinked so that the authorities concerned could be well-aware of the comprehensive information and data of criminals and their cases.
This was stated by Secretary Public Prosecution Punjab Nadeem Sarwar during a meeting with the five-member delegation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa led by Director General Public prosecution Mukhtar Ahmad.
Additional Secretary Punjab Public Prosecution Muhammad Shahid, Director Public Prosecution Esmat Ullah and other officers were also present on this occasion.
The KPK delegation was briefed about the development, plans and institutions reforms of the Public Prosecution of the Punjab and also about the responsibilities of APPS & DPPS. The delegation was also briefed about the update on the ongoing cases in the courts.
