The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi (CTP) on Wednesday issued a detailed update on the link roads connecting the Faizabad interchange being blocked amid banned organization Protest March towards the Federal Capital.
The CTP issued the update to inform the masses on status of blocked routes along Murree Road according to which the locations blocked by containers included Mareer Hassan whose one side was closed by placing a container on the road towards Mareer Chowk.
The Taimoor road was completely blocked by container, whereas both sides of Murree Road from Mareer towards Saddar Metro Station were blocked by containers, it added.
However, Murree Road from Mareer chowk towards Liaquat Bagh was also blocked with the truck placed on one side of the road towards Liaquat Bagh.
The Liaquat Bagh and College Road route was completely closed by containers including Iqbal Road and Dhok Khabba Road.
Keeping in view the interconnectivity of the routes, Bhabhra Bazaar and Circular Roads were blocked by containers including Asghar Mall and Chah Sultan Roads.
While approaching closer to the Fiazabad interchange vicinity, Chandani Chowk and Rawal Road were blocked towards Sadiqabad and Commercial Market whereas Rawal Road was blocked at Shaheen Chowk point.
Moreover, at 6th Road all linking routes were closed by containers, where Main Murree Road from Islamabad towards Saddar side was also blocked under the flyover.
A traffic diversion was also placed on Double Road where containers were placed on both sides of Murree Road and traffic was diverted towards Double Road from Murree Road for Islamabad.
The CTP mentioned that all link roads of Murree Road from Saddar towards Faizabad were blocked for routine traffic operations and advised the citizens to plan their travel accordingly.
