Six die of Covid-19 with 572 fresh infections

Pakistan reported less than 10 fatalities from coro-navirus in a single day for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, as six more people died of Covid-19 on Monday.

According to the data issued by the National Com-mand and Operation Centre, 572 fresh infections were recorded after 42,096 tests were taken.

The coronavirus positivity rate remained 1.35 percent. The number of active cases in the country currently stands at 24,196.

There have been 1,269,806 infections and 28,392 coronavirus-related deaths reported in the country since the pandemic began.

Pakistan has adminis-tered at least 100,741,762 doses of Covid-19 vac-cines so far. As many as 1,,217,218 patients have recovered so far, while 310 people recovered in the past 24 hours.

From a province-wise detail, Punjab reported at least 136 new Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 439,307.

According to the official government statistics, only two patients succumbed to the deadly virus as the death toll for the province reached 12,898. No pa-tients recovered overnight, as the recovery total remained at 418,234.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported at least 93 new Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 177,646. According to health officials, five more patients succumbed to the deadly virus as the death toll reached 5,727. —TLTP
