Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday said that unfortunately, the opposition is compromising national interest for the sake of their vested interests.
“In the prevailing circumstances attitude of the opposition parties is against the national interest.”
Sardar Usman Buzdar further stated that the opposition is merely trying to disguise its humiliation in the shape of protests.
He said that the opposition has always ignored national issues and challenges including Corona and Dengue for their petty political interests.
The opposition has always tried to create hindrance in the journey of progress and development. The Pakistani nation will never forgive the irresponsible negative attitude of the opposition.
This group of self-interest people does not care about the people. The opposition has no agenda and it is only trying to score point on non-issues. The only agenda of the opposition is to protect their personal interests.
He said that the PTI government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan will complete its five years tenure adding that conspirators had faced defeat before and will meet the same fate in future.
He said that they have always replied their negative politics with public service, the people want development and prosperity, not chaos.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of member provincial assembly Nishat Ahmad Daha and extended sympathies with the bereaved family members.
He said that he had close relationship with Nishat Ahmad Daha and prayed that may Almighty Allah rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved heirs with fortitude.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman assured to fulfil the promise of providing roof to people and pointed out that 35,000 subsidized apartments will be constructed in Lahore at a cost of Rs180 billion.
Construction of 4,000 apartments is being started in the first phase, he added and maintained that business-friendly reforms in LDA have yielded positive results.
The amendments in LDA building and zoning regulations will encourage the construction of high-rise buildings to attract huge investments while creating job opportunities, he remarked.
Meanwhile, the approval of buildings’ maps is granted in 30 days while the government was following the policy of composite development in backward and remote areas like Kot Addu, concluded the CM.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar directed to accelerate pace of work on ongoing development projects.
Usman Buzdar said that completion of more than 15,500 projects in three years is commendable.
“As many as 3,975 development schemes will be completed in the current financial year, 95 percent of which have already been approved to ensure timely completion.”
The chief minister also reviewed progress on ADP 2021-22. He was informed that Rs241 billion have been released under the current ADP to ensure timely completion of projects.
The chief minister underscored that timely utilization of released funds should be ensured by accelerating the pace of work.
“The secretaries should regularly review the pace of progress while the officials concerned should conduct on-ground inspection.”
The CM emphasized that no compromise will be made on quality and transparency, adding that good performers will be supported by the government while poor performers will have to be answerable for their slackness.
“The fruits of ADP worth amounting to Rs560 billion should be devolved to the people as 35 percent ring-fenced funds have been allocated for south Punjab.”
The CM declared that the draft of the Punjab monitoring and evaluation policy will be approved by the cabinet.
