All government departments should ensure implementation of minority quota at the time of recruitment. Vacancies should be re-advertised in case of insufficient applications or non-compliance with the applicants’ criteria.
An automated system for land records should also be introduced in rural malls. It is necessary to review the policy for uninterrupted provision of funds in schemes run in collaboration with the Federal Government.
Administrative departments in collaboration with international development agencies should ensure ease and brevity in the implementation of projects. Simplifying the business process for the interest of investors is the top priority of the current government.
These views were expressed by Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht on Tuesday in the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance and Development.
Presiding over the 65th session of the Provincial Minister informed the meeting that the recommendations of the Department of Industry and Commerce and the Chambers of Commerce were being implemented to ensure efficient utilization of funds allocated in the budget for enhancing economic activities. Provision of testing labs the scope of feasibility reports will be expanded.
Other participants in the meeting included Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal, Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal, Chairman Planning and Development Board Abdullah Sanbal, Secretary Finance Iftikhar Sahu and secretaries of relevant departments.
Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal stressed on the need to improve the condition of land centers under the Board of Revenue and the establishment of family and women’s parks under PHA.
More than 21 recommendations were made by various departments in the meeting, most of which were related to the names of the schemes included in the annual development program and the scope of their scope.
Approval was given to include the Establishment of Mall, Housing Department, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Sewerage and Water Supply Schemes and Sports Department Scheme in the Annual Development Program.
The meeting also approved a supplementary grant of Rs. 700 million for the provision of parks in Lahore under the Punjab Horticulture Authority. Additional funds of Rs. 200 million were sanctioned for the expansion of water supply scheme in Gujarat.
Rs. 7,09,874 for the treatment of the Superintendent of Communications and Works and Rs. Approved.
The committee also approved the rehabilitation of unused funds for two schemes of the Irrigation Department for protection and other natural disaster control funds from the Department of Primary and Secondary Health.
Meanwhile, Safe City Authority in Lahore on Tuesday impounded the vehicle belonging to Punjab Minister for Prisons Fayyazul Hassan Chohan for not submitting seven e-challans. Sources told Pakistan Observer that a fake number plate was affixed to the Punjab minister’s car as well.
The sources further disclosed that irked over the seizure of the car, Chohan wrote a letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, who has ordered an inquiry.
