In a major diplomatic breakthrough for Pakistan, two resolutions on situation in Indian illegally occu-pied Jammu and Kashmir were recently presented to the Swedish Parliament for discussion.
An analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service said, the resolutions urged the Swedish government to give its full support to settlement of the Kashmir conflict, which is of utmost importance to enable a peace process in the South Asian region.
The resolutions presented to the Swedish parliament state that life has become disastrous for 8 million IIOJK people since abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019.
While highlighting India’s illegal actions of 5 Au-gust 2019, the resolutions maintain that IIOJK is the most militarized region in the world.
The resolutions note that depriving Kashmiris of their right to freedom of expression and movement for an indefinite period is contrary to International Conventions on Human Rights. India was asked to stop its collective punishment of the people of Kashmir.
As per KMS report, the motion presented in the Swedish parliament terms the Kashmir situation as grave and critical and urged Swedish parties to do their part for a peaceful solution of Kashmir con-flict.—INP
