Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday announced celebration of Ashura Shane Rehmatul Lil-Alameen (SAWW) from 1st to 12 Rabiul Awal across Punjab.
During this period, a host of celebrations will be held including the central Rehmatul Lil-Alameen conference, international Mashaikh Ulema conference and Milad-e-Mustafa.
Similarly, Na’atia mushaira, Na’at competition, calligraphic exhibitions will also be held at provincial level.
Special meals will be presented to inmates of old houses, orphanages, hospitals and shelter homes. Parliamentarians will attend ceremonies in their districts.
A special documentary will be made and officials of law enforcement agencies will be given medals, attributed to Rehmatul Lil-Alameen, for showing exemplary performance.
While addressing a press conference at his office on Friday, the CM maintained that no pen or words could ever express the esteemed reverence of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It is a great honour and bliss for Muslims to praise Shane Rehmatul Lil-Alameen, he continued.
“10 days is fixed to describe the Shane Rehmatul Lil-Alameen but I am of the considered opinion that celebrations spanning over 12 days are not enough for it,” he maintained.
We intend to sensitize the world that Muslims have the greatest respect for Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and His glorious honour is above any worldly act, the CM stated.
The CM informed that 10,574 Rehmatul Lil-Alameen scholarships worth amounting to Rs273 million have been awarded to needy students across Punjab and 677 PEEF scholarships will also be given under this program, he added. A total of 29,142 Rehmatul Lil-Alameen scholarships worth Rs834 million will be given this year.
Meanwhile, the CM said ‘Seerat Chairs’ have been established in Bahauddin Zakariya University, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Ghazi University DG Khan, GCU Faisalabad, University of Chakwal and Okara University to conduct funded research.
An effort has been made to include people from all walks of life to take part in the celebrations of Ashura Rehmatul Lil-Alameen, he said.
Provincial Ministers including Raja Basharat, Saeedul Hassan Shah, Raja Yasir Humayun, Murad Raas, SACM Hasaan Khawar, secretaries of Auqaf, HED and SED departments and others were also present.
Meanwhile, PTI’s chief organizer Saif Ullah Khan Nyazee called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and discussed matters of mutual interest.
Talking on the occasion, the CM termed party workers valuable assets to the party, adding that his meeting with office-bearers and workers was very fruitful.
A schedule has been finalized for holding meetings with office-bearers and workers of every district, he said and assured that ticket-holders, office-bearers and workers will be given their due status.
A mechanism has been devised to resolve problems of workers and office-bearers on a priority basis and no injustice will be tolerated, he repeated.
The genuine issues of workers will be solved; the CM assured and maintained that the PTI has broken the three-decades-long status quo.
Saif Ullah Nyazee said durable steps have been taken for the development of the province as CM believes in performance instead of political pomp and show.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar met with MPAs in CM office here on Friday. Talking on the occasion, the CM said the government has fulfilled all promises and development projects are being executed with the consultation of elected members.
Usman Buzdar said that defeated elements have been hatching conspiracies from the day first but with the grace of Allah all their nefarious designs failed.
The MPAs who called on CM included Ghazeen Abbasi, Awais Dareshk, Mahindar Pal Singh, Syed Abbas Ali Shah, Sania Kamran and ticket holder Abullah Tahir.
