The opposition on Thursday filed a requisition in the National Assembly with regards to a debate on the National Accountability Bureau’s Ordinance.
President Dr Arif Alvi had signed the National Accountability Bureau Amendment Ordinance 2021 on Wednesday. The tenure of Justice (retd) Iqbal was also extended.
Moreover, the ordinance states that the president will appoint chairman NAB in consultation with the prime minister and the leader of the opposition. However, if there is no consensus, the president will refer the matter to a parliamentary committee.
