KPFSA seizes over 1400kg substandard jiggery, sweets

The KP Food Safety Authority (KPFSA) seized hundreds of kilograms substandard jiggery, sweets, sealed five bakery units and held two persons in separate actions.

According to details, the KPFSA on Thursday conducted operations against adulterators during which 1400 kilogram jiggery (Molasses) was seized and two people were held. The culprits were using sugar and health hazard chemicals to renew the outdated jiggery.

Meanwhile, the authority during an operation in Mardan city sealed five bakery units over violation of hygiene rules and seized over 250 substandard sweets.—INP
