Two persons were murdered in sepa rate incidents in Sialkot on Monday. In the first incident, according to the police, a man was shot and killed by his seven rivals over a property dispute.
It is said that Waheed Arif was present on his land near village Pakki Garhi, in the limits of the Begowala police, when Ashraf, Imtiaz, Mohsin, Sarwar and their three unidentified accomplices arrived there on a tractor trolly. After exchanging hot words with Waheed Arif, the accused party opened fire at him and fatally injured him.
The accused managed to flee from the spot whereas Waheed died at the spot after a short while. In second incident a man was tortured and then his throat cut by unknown accused over uncertain reasons.
According to the police, Ilyas Masih of village Bhatta Kalan, in the limits of the Cantt police station, left his home for Sialkot city after receiving an unknown telephone call.
After some time, body of Ilyas Masih was found near Aik nullah, which revealed that he was badly tortured and then his throat was cut with the help of some sharp-edged tool. Motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained.
