A session on Leadership Development and Nation Building was organized by Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology’s Center for Guidance, Career Planning and Placement in which former Ambassador of Pakistan to Sri Lanka Major General (r) Muhammad Saad Khattak expressed his views on the subject under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, Major General (r) Muhammad Saad Khattak said that Pakistan is an ideological country but we are adhering to our values and priorities. Our faith in destiny has become weak. Man should do what he can do properly. Not every man can do everything.

He said that good leadership encourages and motivate young generation to show their acumen and carve their bright future. Our national tragedy is that we focus on education but neglect training/grooming, which is very important. That is why there is a lack of good leadership. We don’t concentrate on personality building.

Addressing the seminar, Vice Chancellor SSUET, Prof Dr Vali Uddin, said that there was a time when the Muslims of the subcontinent were in deep despair and in bad condition. Opportunities for employment and education were not available to Muslims. Therefore, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan founded an institution for Muslims’ education and character building. Students of Aligarh Muslim University changed the history of the subcontinent and led to the establishment of Pakistan.

Introducing the guest speaker, Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali said that Major General (r) Muhammad Saad Khattak had rendered various services at home and abroad for 35 years. He held senior positions in Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He got trained by French Army Junior Staff Course, Defense Intelligence Director Course, UK, Command and Staff College Quetta and National Defense University Islamabad. He takes part as a security expert in the media shows.
