Special Assistant to PM, Naeem ul Haque, said on Friday that the government had allowed Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for medical treatment.
He said that the government had seen Nawaz’s reports. He said that the former prime minister was ill. “It is the right of every Pakistani to have themselves treated as they see fit,” he said.
“The government has no issue if he flies abroad for treatment. Now, it’s for the court to decide whether to give Nawaz Sharif one-time or two-time permission to travel abroad for treatment,” said Naeemul Haq.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif will take his brother Nawaz Sharif to London for medical treatment on Sunday.
Arrangements have been made to have Nawaz treated at Harley Street Clinic. Both Nawaz and Shahbaz will take the PIA flight to London.
Shahbaz has already spoken to consultants at one of the Harley Street clinics where patients suffering from drop in platelets are treated privately.
“Shahbaz Sharif has told his brother that his health comes before politics and everything else. Its important that Nawaz Sharif is in good health and he should get the best possible treatment at the best possible facilities,” the source said.
Meanwhile, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz on Friday said that it would be very difficult if she is unable to accompany her father, Nawaz Sharif, abroad for medical treatment.
Following an appearance before an accountability court in Lahore regarding the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, Maryam said that her uncle Shahbaz Sharif, had been managing the issue of taking the former premier abroad.
“I obviously can’t travel immediately because the court has my passport,” she said, referring to the Lahore High Court.
