Secretary Health reviews Dengue situation in Province

Secretary Health Imran Sikandar Baloch reviewed the current situation of Dengue in the whole province.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare department Imran Sikandar Baloch directed the Department to intensify the dengue prevention activities across the Punjab. In this regard, he appealed to take special care of cleanliness and no garbage should be thrown in open places.

Precautionary measures against Dengue are very important. Citizens should be more responsible in preventing Dengue during monsoon; especially rainwater should not accumulate in residential areas. In the last 24 hours, 174 Dengue patients are reported across the whole province.

In last 24 hours 160 patients were reported from Lahore, 5 from Rawalpindi, 3 from Attock whereas respectively 1 patient is reported from Gujrat, Chakwal, Hafizabad, Khushab, Layyah and Rajanpur.

During this year total 1,300 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported from all the hospitals of whole Punjab and out of all confirmed patients,1,077 patients have been reported from Lahore.

At present a total of 120 patients are admitted across Punjab out of which 65 Dengue patients are admitted in the hospitals of Lahore while 35 patients are admitted in hospitals of Rawalpindi.

9 patients of dengue are admitted in Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore, 8 each in Mayo Hospital and Services Hospital, 7 in Shalimar Hospital, 6 each in Gurki Trust Hospital, Doctors Hospital and Jinah Hosptal, 3 in Farooq Hospital, 2 each in Gulab Devi Hospital, Hameed Latif Hospital and University of Lahore Teaching Hospital whereas 1 patient each in Adil Hospital, Centrel Park Teaching Hospital, Umar Hospital, Mansoora Hospital, Masood Hospital, Life Line Hospital, General Hospital and Ever Care Hospital.

27 patients of dengue are admitted in Holy Family Hospital, 5 in District Head Quarter Hospital Rawalpindi, 1 patient each in Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi, Nowsehra Hospital and Wapda Hospital.

3 Patients of dengue are admitted in Nishter Hospital Multan, 2 each in District Head Quarter Hospital Sargodha and Attock whereas 1 patient each is admitted in Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur, District Head Quarter Gujrat and Okara.

1 patient of Dengue is also admitted each in Faisalabad Hospital, Hospital Hafizabad and Teaching Hospital Dera Ghazi Khan.

In last 24 hours, 439,462 indoor locations were checked across the Punjab while 86,495 outdoor locations were checked, while larvae were destroyed from 948 locations.

In Lahore 54,324 indoor places were checked for dengue larvae 6,407 outdoor locations were checked and 594 positive containers were destroyed.

In this regard, Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch said that precautionary measures against dengue should also be taken besides of taking precautionary measures against Corona epidemic.

He appealed to all the religious scholars of Punjab to inform the worshipers coming to the mosques about the prevention of dengue further said do not allow the storage of water at indoor and outdoor places; as hygiene can prevent dengue mosquito breeding. Be a responsible citizen by keep your surroundings neat and clean.

He further said that the public is requested to extend full cooperation to the health department teams if they come to your home or business centers for the checking of dengue larvae, as dengue can be very fatal and is a very dangerous fever which can cause death.
