Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday stressed that there is a need to create awareness among the masses about the harmful effects of unnecessary spraying, warning that any misreport regarding dengue would lead to a stern action.
“Corona and dengue are two big challenges and all the departments have to discharge their responsibilities for prevention of these two challenges.”
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was presiding over a meeting to review the dengue situation across Punjab.
The meeting reviewed proposals, recommendations for prevention of dengue. The CM directed to make dengue control measures more effective and also instructed to monitor performance of the dengue control officials.
The chief minister said that no leniency would be tolerated in efforts to control of dengue, underscoring there is a need to make surveillance teams performance more effective.
During the meeting, it was informed that all the public health institutions have been alert regarding the dengue situation whereas all dengue wards have also been made functional in all the hospitals across Punjab.
The Health Department and other administrative officials gave a detailed briefing to the CM regarding the situation of dengue.
Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said unnecessary spray could be injurious to human health and all the medical treatment and medicines have been ensured for taking care of possible dengue patients.
Meanwhile, former District Nazim Sahiwal and leader of PTI Rai Hassan Nawaz called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. MPA belonging to PML-N Faisal Niazi and others were also present. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and overall political situation were discussed.
On the occasion, the CM said the negative politics of opposition has breathed its last and time of jugglers has passed as politics of juggling has no match with that of public-oriented services.
Usman Buzdar said illegal assets were made in the past while development work remained less.
During the last ten years political dramas were played in Punjab while in 2018 elections, the people buried the politics of corrupt politicians once for all.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister Food Security and Research Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan called on CM Usman Buzdar. MPA Rana Shahbaz Ahmad was also present on the occasion.
The CM informed that the journey of real development has started in Punjab whereas in the past, development was not the priority rather juggling was the agenda which resulted in ruining of the system.
The CM said responsibility of price-hike is on the shoulders of previous rulers who continued deceiving the public.
Usman Buzdar said a comprehensive mechanism has been devised for timely completion of development projects and to ensure transparency.
Federal Minister Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan appreciated the vision of CM Usman Buzdar for uniform development across the province.
Meanwhile, MPA Shahab-ud-Din Saher called on CM Usman Buzdar and apprised the chief minister about the damages caused due to the erosion of River Indus in Layyah and appealed to redress the issue to save crops and the population.
He appealed to the CM for construction of river training work for prevention of erosion due to Indus River.
The CM immediately sought a report for construction of training work at Mouza Rakhwan on Indus River.
On the other hand, CM Usman Buzdar strongly condemned the sad incident of desecration of Quaid-i-Azam sculpture in Gwader.
The CM termed the incident as an attack on ideology of Pakistan and said this incident has tried to harm the solidarity of Pakistan and every Pakistani is sad on the incident.
