London

Halal Expo London hosted UK’s first International B2B and Consumer Halal trade show taking place at ExCeL London from the 5th to the 7th of December 2019. Founder, Aatif Majid is proud to bring Halal Expo London to ExCeL London for the first time. “Halal events are occurring globally, yet in the UK where the Muslim population is over 3 million, we are yet to see an event focusing on the Halal economy and trade.” According to the Muslim Pound – MCB report, Muslims are contributing £31 billion to the UK economy along with the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report suggesting that Muslim spend was estimated at $2.1 trillion in 2017. These numbers reveal that the global Halal economy has emerged as a steady growth market worldwide making the UK a prime market for trade, spend and influence in the Muslim world. For its first year, Halal Expo London will be hosting the Halal Economy Conference which will present insights into likely market changes over the course of the next decade. The conference will consider consumer trends, the impacts of new 4IR technologies, Post-Brexit trade conditions and their various impacts upon sectors such as food, travel and ethical finance. The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on British Muslims will be launching their Made In Britain: MECONOMICS report for the first time outside parliament at the Halal Economy Conference. The report will share its findings about British Muslim contributions to enterprise and entrepreneurship in the UK, the size of the market, its future trajectory, barriers to entry, obstacles to growth and promoting deeper integration in mainstream business practice as well as the contribution of Muslim Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals towards the UK’s economy. Dinar Standard will also be presenting their State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2019/20in the UK at the Halal Economy Conference. This groundbreaking report defines and provides a comprehensive view of the Islamic economy as well as its future potential to facilitate investments and industry growth. The report has become a global reference point for companies serving the Muslim market. Additionally, visitors will be invited to participate in The Big Debate, Halal Expo Londons’ initiative to discuss and tackle pressing issues on ethical and sustainable consumerism, female leadership in business as well as body positivity and mental health. Halal Expo London will also host #PitchPerfect in partnership with iE5 – the world’s first global Islamic economy accelerator. #PitchPerfect is an international competition looking to uncover some of the world’s most innovative and promising start-ups and early stage companies focused on the Halal and ethical economy.—Agencies
