Chairs meeting to review arrangements for events to be held on the day

Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat on Tuesday said that Black Day against Indian atrocities on Kashmiri people will be observed on October 27 at provincial, divisional and district level.
“Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, ministers, parliamentarians, media and civil society representatives will participate in the Black Day functions to highlight the Indian-state sponsored terrorism against unarmed civilian, struggling for their inalienable right to self-determination.”
Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat was addressing a meeting of the Punjab Kashmir Committee at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.
MPA Nazir Chauhan and officers of the concerned departments were also present on the occasion while Additional Secretary Information Farhat Jabeen gave a briefing on the proposed programs of the day.
The Divisional Commissioners briefed about the arrangements in their respective divisions through video link.
It was informed in the briefing that processions, seminars and speech competitions would be organized in educational institutions across the province to highlight Indian atrocities on Kashmiris.
Banners of condemnation will be hung at important places including Raja Basharat further said that human rights violations in Kashmir would shake the conscience of the international community and like last year, a unanimous message would be sent from Punjab against Indian oppression all over the world this year.
“Considering the Black Day as a national cause, public and private demonstrations should be successful and Pakistani citizens all over the world should expose the ongoing Indian oppression in occupied Kashmir to the international community,” Raja concluded.
Meanwhile, Minister for Agriculture Syed Hussain Jahanian Gardezi chaired the first meeting to review production strategy of the next wheat crop.
On the occasion, he directed the field staff to provide awareness on modern production technology to ensure crop production targets and also ensure provision of quality of agricultural inputs to the farmers at the time of Wheat sowing.
Provincial Minister for Agriculture gave instructions to the Director General of Agriculture (Extension) to hold a meeting with the officials of the Irrigation Department to ensure availability of canal water to the farmers on sowing.
Syed Hussain Jahanian Gardezi also said that he would personally monitor the sowing of wheat and in this regard there is need to organize mega farmer gatherings at Divisional and District level, the minister added.
In the meeting, Punjab Agriculture Secretary Asad Rehman Gillani directed to provide awareness to the farmers regarding non-cultivation varieties of wheat crop so that, the farmers use only approved varieties of Wheat seed which can increase the yield per acre.
Meeting was attended by committee members included Secretary Agriculture Asad Rehman Gillani, Secretary Agriculture South Punjab Saqib Ali Ateel, Director General Agriculture (Extension) Dr Anjum Ali, Director General Agriculture Pest Warning Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Director Agricultural Information Muhammad Rafiq Akhtar, Director Crop Reporting Abdul Qayyum and other senior officers.
