The administration of the Women’s University went into frenzy when it was forced to collect hostel fees from the students.
The students took a stand on non-payment of hostel fees, saying that they have been studying online at home for the last two years during covid-19 and have not avail hostel from 2020 to 2021.
They questioned as why they should pay Rs120,000 in the head of hostel fees. The university administration is trying to charge a fee of Rs120,000 per student and is threatening to withhold students’ degrees if hostel fees are not paid.
Earlier, female students had also protested against hostel fees at Zakaria University on which the university administration had to waive hostel fees.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Multan Division, Dr Irshad Ahmed, while handing over the task to the administration for the success of anti-polio campaign, said that for the success of anti-polio campaign, health department and district administration should work on war footing. Teams will vaccinate 2,181,937 children against polio.
Commissioner Dr Irshad Ahmed was presided over a review meeting on anti-polio campaign. He appealed to parents not to listen to any rumour and protect their children’s future by vaccinating them against polio.
He also hinted at action against the parents for refusing to vaccinate their children against polio. Deputy Commissioner Amir Karim Khan briefed the meeting about the ongoing anti-polio drive in Multan.
Assistant Commissioner Mubashirur Rehman, Director Health Services Dr Wasim Ramzi, CO Health Shoaib Gormani were also present while Deputy Commissioners of the Division joined the meeting through video link.
