Pakistan rupee continued its losing streak against the US dollar in the interbank and shed Rs0.17 (-0.10 percent) during the last week, mainly due to high import bill and volatile situation in neighbour-ing Afghanistan.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the US dollar opened at Rs168.02 on Monday last in the interbank and closed at Rs168.19 on Friday, the last working day of the week.
Overall, Pakistani rupee shed Rs0.17 during this week against the US dollar, while depreciation dur-ing the fiscal year 2021-22 has been Rs10.75. The local unit has shed Rs7.92 against the US dollar in the current year 2021.— TLTP
