COVID claims 19 more lives across Sindh

As many as 19 more patients of coronavirus died overnight in Sindh, lifting the death toll to 7,243 while 665 new cases emerged when 17,670 tests were conducted.

This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Friday.

He added that 19 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,243 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.

Mr. Shah said that 17,670 samples were tested which detected 665 cases that constituted 3.8 percent current detection rate.

He added that so far 5,835,861 tests have been conducted against which 448,695 cases were diagnosed, of them 92 percent or 412,544 patients have recovered, including 1,227 overnight.

The CM said that currently 28,908 patients were under treatment, of them 28,250 were in home isolation, 35 at isolation centers and 623 at different hospitals.

The chief minister added that the condition of 559 patients was stated to be critical, including 54 shifted to ventilators. According to the statement, out of 665 new cases, 195 have been detected from Karachi, including 60 from East, 55 South, 34 Korangi, 29 Central, 10 West and 7 Malir.

Hyderabad has 117, Sanghar 32, Tharparkar 29, Matiari and Shaheed Benazirabad 27 each, NausheroFeroze and Sujawal 19 each, Thatta, Umerkot, Badin and Dadu 17 each, Ghotki, Jamshoro and Tando Muhammad Khan 16 each, Mirpurkhas 13, Kashmore, Larkana, Shikarpur and Sukkur 12 each, Jacobabad 7, Tando Allahyar two and Khairpur one. Murad Ali Shah urged people to abide by the SOPs issued by the government.
