Legislative body of Upper House of Parliament on Thursday was told to prepare complete documents for any developmental schemes by 31st March 2022 to consider for approval in next year Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
The Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Asad Umer informed the Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development & Special Initiatives that the government would include any developmental project in PSDP if forwarded in proper time.
Final authority of all PSDP projects was National Economic Council (NEC), the minister said while responding to a question that why the parliamentarians projects were not included in PSDP.
There are no restriction on parliamentarians projects under PSDP subject to complete all other formalities, the minister maintained.
The committee held its meeting in parliament house while Senator Saleem Mandviwallah was on chair.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on CPEC Affairs, Khalid Mansoor also attended the meeting.
The Chairman Committee expressed his concern over the proposals and recommendations of the committee, on various Development Projects at Provincial and Federal Level which are not considered.
Senator Shafeeq Tareen expressed his concern on the approval process of Provincial Projects, which can only be approved if the Chief Minister gives it a go ahead.
The Ministry informed the committee that the PSDP Projects are divided into 2 half’s.
Federal Minister Execution projects and Provincial Minister Execution Project, the Minister informed the Committee that the Provincial Projects cannot be laid on our table, unless approved by the PDWP, to be further approved by the NEC.
