The First Lady Bushra Bibi on Thursday visited the Punjab Institute of Mental Health (PIMH) where she enquired about the care available for the people admitted to the facility. She also handed out gifts to women and children being treated at the institute.
“The PIMH administration should to come up with a plan to reform the facility.” Bushra Bibi also planted a sapling at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) as part of the government’s Monsoon tree plantation drive.
Bushra Bibi visited different sections of the health facility and asked the officials to extend as much care to the patients as possible. She said that attention be paid to the rehabilitation of the drug addict and elderly persons with illness.
She went around different sections of the along with officials and was briefed about facilities being provided to the patients. She also went to the hospital’s kitchen and examined the hygiene and food quality.
Tight security measures were taken on the occasion of the First Lady’s visit to IMH where special branch, police personnel, traffic and security agencies personnel were deployed.
It was reported that the administration painted the main gate and ensured cleanliness measures inside the IMH prior to the visit of the First Lady.
