The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) recovered a stolen car and arrested the car lifter here on Tuesday. According to details, NHMP officers SPO Ghulam Safdar and PO Samiullah Satti were at routine patrolling while on location 1510 north bound base passed the wireless message to attend a breakdown vehicle No MC-372 Model 2001 having some problem. Officers of Tiger 2 SPO Malik Safdar and PO Samiullah Satti attended the said car which was locked at Faiz ul Islam North side.
PO Samiullah Satti informed base that the car is locked and suspicious. He checked from district police and received information that this car was stolen from the area of Police Station airport, and FIR No 973 registered on 20-12-18.
Officers contacted the driver who told that he was traveling with family and coming back soon after dropping family at Rawalpindi.—INP
