Helping Hand engaged in charity, welfare activities in 82 districts

Country Head of the Helping Hand Pakistan, Muhammad Saleem Mansoori while briefing the members of the Islamabad High Court Journalists Association on Tuesday said his organization was engaged in charity and welfare activities in 82 districts of Pakistan including Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).

While giving a background of the HH, Saleem Mansoori said it was a welfare organization of the US-based Overseas Pakistanis and its charity & welfare network is actively engaged in welfare works across the globe.

Besides Pakistan, we are working in eighteen other countries and our operations are underway in 54 countries that are affected by earthquake and natural calamities, said Saleem Mansoori.

Various initiatives taken by the HH include assistance to the orphans, rehabilitation of the handicapped, provision of clean, drinking water, emergency relief, in-kind gifts programme, rehabilitation of handicapped children, skills development, health programme and interest-free loans.

In the year 2020 alone, 8.7 million people were benefited under this programme, Mansoori further said.

Manager Implementation Amjad Mehmood on the occasion informed the members of the IHCJA that recently, under in-kind gifts scheme 519 containers worth US$73 million were distributed among the poor and the needy, which in Pak Rupees amounts to 10 billion.
