JUI-F ‘whining’ in guise of Azadi March: Buzdar CM Punjab restores flour supply to KP

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is ‘whining’ in guise of Azadi March in federal capital. In a statement issued here on Monday, Usman Buzdar stated that group of corrupt people has once again gathered to fulfill their personal interests.
Those doing politics of chaos will remain unsuccessful like they were in the past, he added. Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has decided to restore supply of flour to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Punjab government will open the release of flour to KPK government in the light of this decision.
The chief minister has also issued directions to Punjab Food Department in this regard. The meeting was held under the chair of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office here on Monday in which food ministers of KPK and Punjab namely Qalandar Khan Lodhi and Sami Ullah Chaudhry, Chief Secretary, secretaries of food departments of Punjab and KPK provinces, finance secretary and others were also present.
Addressing the meeting, Usman Buzdar said that Punjab government will fulfill the flour needs of KPK adding that decision has been made to restore the supply of flour to KPK as a gesture of goodwill for the people of KPK province. The flour supply to the KPK would be regularly monitored and the chief minister also directed to constitute a joint committee of Punjab and KPK provinces to monitor the steps taken in this regard. The KPK food minister welcomed the decision and while thanking Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, he said that this step would be helpful in fulfilling food needs of the KPK province.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office here on Monday. It was decided in the meeting to further expedite campaign of overcoming smog and environmental pollution. Chief Minister said that 273 million dollars worth Punjab Green Development Programme has been started adding that this would be helpful in ongoing campaign against pollution. We are thankful to the World Bank for its cooperation in this programme, he added. He said that Punjab Green Development Programme will play an important role for promoting green investment adding that government is committed to give clean environment to the coming generations.
The steel mills in the province are being transferred to latest technology and work has also been started to transfer brick-kilns to zig-zag technology. He said that ban has been imposed to burn the crops’ residue in the province and six monitoring stations have been established to monitor air quality. Meanwhile, 30 new air quality monitoring stations will also be set up under the environment department along with setting up of 15 water quality monitoring stations.
