Administrator Karachi, Sindh government spokesman and CM Adviser on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab taking note of media reports on Monday ordered removal of all unnecessary monuments from People’s Square.
During a surprise visit to People’s Square here, the city Administrator reprimanded the company operating People’s Square and said that no entry fee should be charged except for charged parking.
“This place has been established for the recreational activities for the people,”he added. Metropolitan Commissioner Afzal Zaidi, Managing Director of Karachi Neighborhood Project Nazir Issani and others were also present on the occasionMurtaza Wahab directed to follow the standards of Sindh government a and allocate weekly holidays for families.
It was informed in a briefing on the occasion that more than 10,000 people come to Peoples Square on Saturday and Sunday. Later, the Administrator visited Burns Garden and directed to improve it.
He said that Burns Garden, established in 1927, is the oldest park built for the citizens of Karachi. “I wish that the citizens can come here again with their families and enjoy better entertainment,” he said
He added that these amusement parks located in the heart of Karachi have been set up to provide entertainment to the citizens and they will be made as best as possible.
