The Islamabad police will ensure security of visi-tors, hikers and climbers in the Margalla Hills by using drone cameras and by deploying special forces for this purpose.
It was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamilur Rehman after reviewing the security arrangements at hiking points including Trail-III and V.
These points are popular not only with local resi-dents but foreigners and tourists also come here and climb the Margalla Hill top to have a view of the city of Islamabad.
SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer and senior police officials also accompanied the IGP to these points and briefed him about the measures taken so far to ensure security of the visitors and hikers.
The IGP directed SSP (Operations) to ensure secu-rity of hikers through special deployment of police-men at these points while drone security cameras should be also used for their safety.
In case a person forgets the way at trail, he/she should be monitored or searched through drone cameras and safe return to be ensured.
The SSP (Operations) ensured immediate compli-ance on IGP’s directions and deployment would be made after coordination with Islamabad Wildlife Management Board for prompt response.
He said that lady policemen would be also deployed for guidance to female hikers and all out efforts would be made for a safe environment for citizens.
