Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani Friday presiding over high level meeting expressed anger over snail pace work on Abbottabad by-pass from Havalian to Dahamtor.
He directed Communication and Works Department, Frontier Works Organisation, Finance department, Planning and Development department, KP Highways authority and NESPAK to expedite work on the project and complete it by June 2020.
He said it was desired by Prime Minister Imran Khan that the tourists should be given all facilities in this area and the by-pass was part of the efforts.
He recalled a recent meeting with KP Chief Minister Mamood Khan and said the CM assured him release of funds for the project by December 2019. He asked the relevant departments to immediate release one billion rupees funds and make efforts for rest of the money so that the project could be completed by June 2020.
The speaker noted that upon completion of the project the traffic mess would reduce in Abbottabad city and tourists would travel to Galiyat without any problem.
He directed Finance Department and Planning and Development to present their report over the project within a week.
Earlier, the meeting was briefed that Rs3 billion would incur over 18.70 kilometer long Abbottabad by-pass road that included underpasses, protection walls and bridges.
It was said that until now Rs380 million have been released to the relevant departments while Rs2 billion to be released by December 2019.
