Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani has said that the launching of internship programme for university students in police offices aims at providing practical learning opportunities to the students pursuing higher education.
“MOUs have been signed in this regard under which the internship program will be continued in the future as well.”
IG Police Inam Ghani expressed the views while addressing students at the closing ceremony of first batch of Punjab Police Internship Program at Central Police Office here on Tuesday.
The IGP said that the students who have completed the internship sessions in various branches of the Central Police Office including Establishment, Legal, R&D, DPR, Complaint Cell and others have pointed out different issues for improvement in working.
The Punjab Police, by remaining in its ambit of resources, will continue to improve public service delivery by addressing these issues.
He further said that the students who have completed internship in the police offices will go to the society as police ambassadors and will improve relations between the people and the police whereas.
During the ceremony, students also presented their reports of research work made during the internship in the police offices and made suggestions for upgrading the working system and improving service delivery based on their observations.
The 14 students who completed internship are from Quaid-e-Azam University, Lums and Lahore School of Economics and the IG Police distributed certificates to them.
