Announces participation in the next general elections

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar while announcing participation in the next general elections, said that the biggest beneficiary of opposition’s split, is the PTI government.
“The opposition cannot bring ‘No Confidence Movement’ against the government no matter how hard it tries.”
Governor Ch Sarwar was talking to media after inaugurating the Filtration Plant installed by Friends of Lahore’s at Governor House here on Friday.
Political Secretary to Governor Anwar A Ghani and Mian Kashif Iqbal among others were also present on the occasion.
Ch Sarwar stated that he had returned to Pakistan to take part in active politics but Prime Minister Imran Khan had appointed him as Punjab Governor, adding that and he has been discharging his duties as a Governor as per the party’s leadership decision, but in coming elections, he would actively participate in the politics.
He said that opposition’s threats regarding “No Confidence Movement” were mere words and the government would complete its tenure and elections would be held in 2023.
Answering a question, he declared that PML-Q is the staunchest ally of the government and they are supporting the government for prosperity and progress of the country.
“Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has never talked about overthrowing federal or provincial governments,” Ch Sarwar declared and added that their reservations, if there is any, will be addressed and they will be taken on board on all matters.
While commenting on the issue of permitting PML-N leaders to go abroad, the Punjab governor stated that this was a matter to be handled by the federal government and the Interior Ministry so he would not comment on this matter.
While talking about Punjab Aab-e-pak Authority, Ch Sarwar said that 1,500 projects are being executed expeditiously and will be completed till December 2021.
“Almost 8 million people will get clean drinking water in the first phase on daily basis on completion of these projects.”
“With the help of philanthropists, we have started working on the project to build a school and college at Malik Miraaj Khalid Trust for which I thank Gohar Ijaz, Mian Talat, Anwar A Ghani, Mian Ahsan and Friends of Lahore,” he said.
Meanwhile in his message on 14th August, Governor Ch Sarwar said that it is a day to reaffirm the pledge that no effort will spared for the progress and prosperity of the country.
He said that the challenges faced by the country can be overcome by forging unity among ranks, promoting tolerance and brotherhood.
He said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister is committed to provide basic facilities to the masses.
He urged the youth to dedicate themselves for the progress and prosperity of the country in line with the vision of the Founder of Nation Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
