The engine of Lahore-bound Shah Hussain Express caught at Samma Satta railway station in Bahawalpur on Saturday.
According to railway sources, the fire damaged the locomotive, however, there was no loss of life in the incident. On information, the local police rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The train was on the way from Karachi for Lahore.
According to the station master, the engine caught fire due to a technical fault. “However, no loss of life was reported,” he said, and added that now when the fire had been put out, the engine would be repaired and soon the train would be on its way to Lahore.
