Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani on Saturday said that miscreants involved in the attack on temple in Rahim Yar Khan do not deserve any concession and immediate action has been taken against them.
“Three separate cases have been registered with the inclusion of provisions of terrorism while a total of 52 persons including the main accused have been arrested.”
IG Police Inam Ghani was presiding over a meeting with officers in the camp office here on Saturday.
The IGP further said that police teams were not only conducting raids but also conducting search operations in different areas of the city to arrest the remaining accused as soon as possible.
He said that people of all religions, ethnicities and sects living in the country are Pakistani citizens whose property, sacred places and best security of places of worship is the top priority of the Punjab government and Punjab Police.
Inam Ghani informed that the arrested accused have been produced for identity parade in the anti-terrorism court and sent to jail on judicial remand while full legal action is being taken against the elements who provoked the citizens to mischief.
He said that the restoration work of Rahim Yar Khan temple, under the supervision of Punjab government, has been started which will be completed in the next few days.
He said that all expenses to be incurred on the rehabilitation of the temple will be recovered from the accused. He said that he was directly monitoring the investigation into incident of attack on the temple.
