MD LWMC visits different areas to check cleanliness

Managing Director Lahore Waste Management Company Rao Imtiaz Ahmad monitored cleanliness condition of the city by visiting different areas unannounced. He visited Darogawala, Bata Pur, Jallo Mor, Fateh Garh, Pakistan Mint, Harbanspura, Manawan, Mughalpura, Tajpura, Railway Station and Madina Colony and Orange Line Train Stations and its surrounding areas.
Whereas Deputy Managing Director Tariq Hussain Bhatti also visited Garden Town, Gulberg, Ichra, Gurumangat Road and followed by Ferozepur Road and its vicinity. MD LWMC directed the operations department to clean Lahore at any cost and to maintain cleanliness on daily basis. He also stated that quality of work must be improved. MD LWMC said that officers should work hard or can go home; I will not tolerate negligence of any sort in this job. He also added that my surprise visit will be a permanent feature and will implement carrots and stick method for all without any discrimination.
He further stated that the road sides and footpaths should also be cleared. Deputy Managing Director LWMC Tariq Hussain stated that department is ensuring timely lifting of solid waste from the city whereas citizens should also make sure that they dispose of their waste properly instead of littering.
LWMC will not tolerate any sort of illegal dumping in the city and strict action will be taken against all those who are involved in such activity. Head of Communication department Jamil Khawar said that citizens should also cooperate with LWMC as it is social, moral and civic responsibility of every one and incase of filing complaint regarding waste citizens should dial LWMC Helpline 1139 or use LWMC mobile application Clean Lahore.
