Election petitioners former Minister for Construction Dr. Iqbal, Former Opposition Leader Shafi Khan, Former Law Minister Aurangzeb Advocate addressing a joint press conference at Central Press Club Gilgit, on Tuesday said that under Election Act 2017, election tactics should be decided as soon as possible.

If election tribunals are not formed then we will launch a movement against the Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit Baltistan.

According to the law, election petitions should be decided within 120 days, but after 8 months, election petitions are not being decided.

Therefore, decisions will be taken soon in accordance with the Election Petitions Act, otherwise the next course of action will be announced and we will go to the people’s court instead of protesting, we have knocked on the door of the law.

Therefore, decisions should be made on merit. Our patience should not be tested further said Aurangzaib Advocate.

Former Deputy Speaker Jamil Ahmed said that the Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan has failed miserably in fulfilling its constitutional and legal responsibilities. We will no longer remain silent.
