On the directives of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Secretary Specialized Healthcare Muhammad Aamir Jan on Sunday visited Ch Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology Multan. He took a round of different departments like cardiac ward, OT and stores of the institute.
He also enquired about the health of patients admitted in the hospital and medical facilities being provided to them.
Later while talking to media, the health secretary said that the chief minister asked him to visit the institute to review working and medical facilities available in the hospital. He announced that this institute would be switched over to solar energy.
The secretary hoped that after switch over the institute to solar power, millions of rupees would be saved in terms of electricity bills and charges.
He lauded working and performance of the hospital management and said that he was glad to see all doctors and medical staff was working in a professional manner.
The secretary pointed out that more than 900 patients come to emergency of the hospital, promising to make up for the shortage of doctors and other staff very soon.
All-out resources will be provided to equip and strengthen this institute, Mr Jan said and added that the government is focusing on South Punjab in terms of resources allocation for development in all sectors.
He directed ED Ch Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology Dr Altaf Rana to ensure provision of lodging facility for attendants of patients.
Earlier, ED Ch Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology Dr Altaf Rana brief the secretary on working and facilities being provided to patients in the hospital.
Amir Jan directed that best treatment facilities should be provided to the patients in line with the vision of the Punjab government.
He stressed that the government has allocated ample funds for health secretary, which should be utilised judiciously to benefit the masses.
