Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said monitoring and surveillance of anti dengue activities must be enhanced.

Chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee here on Friday, Dr Yasmin Rashid said: “All institutions are jointly working on controlling dengue. During Monsoon season activities need to be scaled up.

The Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners must ensure compliance with DEAG SOPs. People must keep their homes, offices and shops clean.

Railways colonies have to be especially looked after. The PHA must ensure cleanliness of green belts and parks. Public awareness campaigns must be initiated.

Action is being taken against institutions not doing the needful. The quality of monitoring and surveillance needs to be improved.

Wasa must ensure water is not stagnant anywhere as it increases larva breeding.”
Punjab Auqaf Minister Saeedul Hassan Shah, Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Sarah Aslam, Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik, Punjab Health DG Dr Haroon Jehangir, the PHA DG and other officials attended the meeting. The health minister reviewed anti-dengue activities in the province.
