Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed on Wednesday said that besides plantation on roads and arteries, 250 parks in different districts are also being made greener with the help of welfare agencies which will improve the environment of the city.
“All possible assistance will be provided by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation for the signing of MoUs with the welfare and social organizations of DMCs for tree plantation at the district level,” he said this while talking to a delegation of Dawa-e-Islami led by YaqubAttari.
YahyaAttari, Bilal Attari, Owais Raza Attari, Abdul RehmanAttari, Faizan Global Relief Foundation Director Amin Altaf, Ghulam Mehboob Ali and Muhammad Waseem Attari while KMCs Senior Director Coordination Khalid Khan, Senior Director Media Management and others officers were also present on the occasion.
Ahmed said that the best results of the tree plantation in the city under the Faizan Global Relief Foundation of Dawa-e-Islami are coming to light.
The members of the delegation apprised the Administrator Karachi of the details of the tree plantation campaign to be launched in the city from August 1 under Daawat-e-Islami.
They also invited Ahmed to attend the inaugural function of the tree plantation campaign, which was accepted by the Administrator Karachi.
“The KMC will not only encourage such good deeds but will also provide its services for cooperation and collaboration with all DMCs in connection with this campaign,” he added.
He said that in areas where water supply is a problem, a nearby drainage line can be used.
There is a shortage of water in the city, hopefully, this problem will be solved through a better strategy The Administrator said that MoUs should also be signed with all DMCs in the same manner that Faizan Global Relief Foundation of Dawat-e-Islami had signed MoU with KMC for tree plantation at different parts of the city.
He also stressed on the need for tree plantation in the park located within the limits of Karachi Institute of Kidney Diseases and said that details of the parks in which KMC is working under the annual development program were also provided.
A large scale tree plantation is going to be carried out in DMCs for which numerous plants have been prepared.
In this regard, survey of various places in Korangi, Orangi Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi, North Nazimabad, South District and Central has been completed and work on it will start soon.
? At the request of the representatives of Dawat e Islami, the Administrator Karachi directed the concerned department to restore the street lights near Faizan Medina.
