The beheaded and naked bodies of a teenage girl and youth were recovered from a canal on Wednesday.
The police suspected that both the girl and youth had been killed for honour and later their bodies were dumped in the canal.
According to police, some passersby spotted the dead bodies in the canal near village 72/D, Pakpattan and informed the police.
The police rushed to the spot, pulled out the bodies and shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities and identification.
The police officials informed that efforts are being made to ascertained identity of the slain girl and youth.
They informed that the bodies are in pathetic condition and beyond recognition. “After killing them for honour, the murderers had beheaded the bodies, cut off their limbs and detached their sexual organs”, they said, adding that the murderers had made full efforts to conceal identity of the girl and youth.
The police said that post-mortem report would reveal further facts about the slain couple. The police have registered a case and started efforts to ascertain their identity and whereabouts.
