PESD chalked out emergency plan for Eidul AzHA The Punjab Emergency Service Department (PESD) has chalked out a rescue contingency plan for the holy festival of Eid-ul-Adha in all 36 districts to ensure prompt response to emergencies across Punjab.
A total of 11,130 rescuers will remain on high alert during holidays at various spots of the cities in Punjab.
DG PESD Dr Rizwan Naseer was briefed in a review meeting of emergency arrangements through a video link meeting, held at Rescue Headquarters here on Tuesday.
This video link meeting was participated by all District Emergency Officers (DEOs), Heads of Wing of Rescue Headquarters and Academy.
While presiding over the meeting, Dr Rizwan Naseer directed DEOs to ensure close coordination with Districts/ Tehsils Headquarters Hospitals for better management of victims of emergencies. He also ordered to restrict the leaves of Rescue staff during Eid holidays.
DG PESD wished the citizens a safe & prosperous Eid and asked the motorists to drive safely and refrain from swimming in canals and rivers.
He also requested the public to avoid unnecessary travel and observe all necessary precautions/instructions to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The citizens should be adopted the electrical safety tips during the rainy season/monsoon to ensure electrical safety.
On this occasion, the Head of Operations appraised the DG Dr Rizwan Naseer that around 11,130 rescuers will be deployed at strategic sites during Eid holidays in order to ensure prompt response in case of any untoward situation.
He also informed that specialized Rescue Teams will also be deputed to timely respond to water and COVID-19 emergencies.
DG PESD was briefed that 11,130 rescuers will perform Eid duties in three shifts at 650 key points established across Punjab including 250 key points of emergency vehicles and 400 Motorbikes Ambulance Service.
The Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC) and Patient Transfer Services Cell at Rescue Headquarters will also remain operational round-the-clock to ensure the effective implementation of District Emergency Plans.
Earlier, All DEOs briefed DG PESD that Emergency plans for Eid-ul-Adha, flood preparedness/arrangements to cope with water and rescue emergencies.
They informed that emergency plans were finalized at their districts at District Emergency Board Meetings in consultation with Deputy Commissioners (DCs).
They told that emergency response & management plans have been chalked out at their districts for effective & efficient management of any untoward incident during Eid holidays.
The DEOs said that special Mobile Rescue posts will provide optimum Emergency Cover at Major Eid Prayer Venues.
