The Multan District Administration and Health Department, in a joint operation recovered counterfeit medicines worth millions of rupees on Wednesday. The raid was carried out on a private house in Double Phatak area following a tip-off.
According to officials, Deputy Commissioner Ali Shehzad and District Health Authority CEO Dr Shoaibur Rehman rushed to the spot as soon as they were informed about the counterfeit drugs.
It was learnt that the health department had been chasing the counterfeit drug dealers for a long time.
The recovered counterfeit medicines included fake antibiotic injection” Tanzon” used for treatment of Covid-19 patients.
Meanwhile, Sector Commander M-4 Zone-2 Rai Ehsan Danish Kaliar during a meeting with his officers said that the traffic on motorway will increase manifold prior and during Eidul Azha and it is their responsibility to enforce traffic rules in an effective manner.
He stressed that precautions should be adopted so that no untoward incident occurs and all the passengers reach their destination safely.
The meeting was attended by DSP Headquarters Zaigham Rehman, Inspector Amanullah, Inspector Saghir Ali, Inspector Gulzar Ali, Inspector Kashif Amin, Inspector Farrukh Nawaz and other officers.
