Sarwar announces Rs1400m to provide clean drinking water to S Punjab dwellers

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has announced 508 projects of Punjab Aab Pak Authority at the cost of 1400 million rupees to provide clean drinking water to the people of South Punjab.

He also inaugurated the helpline of Punjab Women Protection for the safety of women. He participated in Mango Festival along with provincial ministers.

Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar arrived in Multan on Thursday on a two-day visit. Provincial ministers Dr. Akhter Malik, Hussain Jahanian Gardezi, and Mrs. Parveen Sarwar were also with him.

On the first day of his visit, Governor Punjab visited Mukhtar Ahmad Sheikh Memorial Welfare hospital and appreciated the high-quality medical facilities provided to the people there. He said that only those who served humanity live in history.

Later, Chaudhry Sarwar along with his wife Begum Parveen Sarwar visited the Social Welfare Complex and inaugurated a special helpline for the protection of women there.

While addressing the ceremony, he said that the rights of women are being ensured in every welfare scheme of the federal and Punjab government including Ehsas Program.

Governor Punjab said the government believes that the country can’t make progress without women empowermen, adding that the government is taking practical steps to ensure their participation in every walk of life.

Governor Punjab along with Provincial Ministers DR. Akhter Malik and Hussain Jahanian Gardezi also attended DHA Multan Mango Festival as special guest.

In his address, Governor Punjab Chaudhry said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government is taking revolutionary steps for the business community.

There is no such precedent in the past for the steps being taken by the present government, he said adding that every penny allocated for South Punjab will be spent in a 100% transparent manner for the welfare, development, and prosperity of the people here.

Apart from visiting MNS University of Agriculture, Chaudhry Sarwar also inaugurated filtration plants at Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzzaffargarh, and Mohalla Bilal Muzzaffargarh.

Talking to the media, he said that commitment to provide clean drinking water to the people of Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal, and Lodhran will be fulfilled under the Punjab Aab Pak Authority. Governor Punjab said that the PTI government is strong and stable.

The government will not only complete its constitutional term, but PTI will also be successful in the elections of Azad Kashmir and the president and prime minister of Azad Kashmir will be from PTI, he concluded.
