Armed robbers, impersonating as anti-polio vaccinators, deprived a family of cash, jewellery and other valuables worth over Rs10 million, the police informed on Thursday.
The robbers fled the scene with ease after looting the family.
Police said that six armed robbers, portraying to be anti-polio vaccinators, barged into a house in a private housing society in Sheikhupura city. They took the residents hostage at gunpoint and started collecting valuables.
The robbers snatched Rs4.5 million cash, 30 tola gold ornaments, precious cellphones, LCDs and other valuables worth over Rs10 million from the family members and made off with ease.
The police have registered a case against unidentified culprits and launched investigation to trace the accused.
